Fighting Food Injustice
Awareness Campaign & Fundraising:
May 2026
Our goal is to empower women to achieve their goals and advance in leadership. But how do we do that if their basic physical needs are not being met? How do we push leadership skills when one is afraid they might not have another meal?
Food insecurity is a multi-dimensional issue influenced by culture and place. and driven by socio-economic, political, environmental, and humanitarian factors.
The understanding of food systems reveals how communal cultural ties provide food-sharing networks, mitigating food insecurity and deepening our understanding of food waste.
When education about food systems is recognized globally, it provides the opportunity for leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to help shape a more robust, resilient, and sustainable food economy that contributes to the innovation and ecosystem of a thriving female community.
The stories below draw back the curtain on food insecurity and shine a light on the work of CWFL and its Fellows, who are finding ways to combat the hunger epidemic daily.
