Become an Ambassador & Support Fundraising

There are many ways to raise funds via social media and email.

Reaching out to your network is an excellent way to inform people about The SCARF Project, educate them on issues like violence against women, social entrepreneurship, and food insecurity, and show how the Fellows of the Center for Women, Faith & Leadership are addressing these.

Besides educating your network, you can also make a direct ask for donations and provide easy access to your fundraising page.

We are providing templates for you to use during the campaign. It is essential to personalize these by sharing what being an ambassador means to you!

We recommend sharing about the campaign and what it means to you 4x during the month. For example, if you're fundraising for Violence Against Women in November, you could post on social media and send an email each week:

  • Post 1 / Email 1: Send November 1 – Campaign Kick-Off

  • Post 2 / Email 2: November 10 – Story of Impact

  • Post 3 / Email 3: November 19 Story of Another Survivor

  • Post 4 / Email 4: November 30 – Last chance to donate to this cause

For your posts
Take a picture of yourself wearing a scarf or head covering. Share why the scarf or head covering is important to you–maybe it was a gift from a loved one, something you bought while traveling, or a choice you made for fashion or a special occasion.

to follow

Create a contact list

Consider who might be interested in learning about The SCARF Project from you, such as family, colleagues, friends, community leaders, classmates, sorority sisters or fraternity brothers, friends’ parents, and others who come to mind.

Customize the templates

Copy the templates to create messages for your network. Use them as a starting point and personalize them – make them your own, especially the sections left blank for you to fill in. Feel free to include a personal greeting, such as “Dear Friends,” “Dear Family,” “Hello,” or “Greetings,” to reach the most people. If you are using email, use BCC when sending a mass message.

Friends’ networks

Ask your friends and family also to become ambassadors and share the emails or social media posts with their network, explaining why they feel called to be ambassadors.
