When the Drumbeats of Anger Ceased: Norwicki’s Story

In the quiet village of Chipoka, Norwicki was once feared even in his own home. Influenced by cultural beliefs that linked manhood with control, dominance, and anger, he thought that strength meant never backing down. But that belief had a dark side.

Behind closed doors, Norwicki’s wife and children lived in fear. Shouting and violence replaced love and laughter. Financial struggles, disagreements, and unhealed frustrations fueled his rage. His wife bore the deepest scars—emotional wounds layered over physical pain.

Everything started to change when the “Together We Can: Men for Equality” project arrived in his community. At first, Norwicki resisted—ashamed of being called a violent man and defensive about his past choices. But as he listened to other men who had walked the same road and to survivors of domestic violence bravely sharing their pain, something shifted.

For the first time, Norwicki realized how damaging cultural norms had kept him trapped in a cycle of violence—and that he could choose a different path.

Through counseling, mentorship, and training in positive masculinity, Norwicki learned to control his anger, communicate respectfully, and resolve conflicts peacefully. Gradually, he rebuilt trust with his wife and children. He apologized for the years of hurt and dedicated himself to becoming their protector instead of their oppressor.

Today, Norwicki’s home has healed. Love has replaced fear. And Norwicki is now a mentor to other men, showing them that true strength lies not in control or violence, but in empathy, respect, and peace.

But many families still live in fear, many men are caught in destructive cycles, and many women and children grow up in homes filled with violence. Your support can help break those cycles.

By giving to this work, you help:

  • Reach more men like Norwicki through life-changing training and counseling.

  • Support survivors with healing and safety.

  • Build communities where homes are filled with love instead of fear.

Together, we can quiet the drumbeats of anger—and replace them with the rhythms of healing and hope.
